FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything you want to know before making an inquiry – sorted by area. If your question isn't here, just write to me.

Do you offer wedding photography in Krems?

Yes. I'm a wedding photographer based in Rohrendorf near Krems and work across Krems an der Donau, the Kremstal, the Wachau, all of Lower Austria and Vienna. Local knowledge included: I know the loveliest spots between Stein, Dürnstein and Langenlois.

Do you also make the wedding film, not just photos?

Both from one source. You get documentary wedding photography and a cinematic wedding film from the same person, in one visual language – that saves coordination and gives photo and video a consistent look.

How far in advance should we book?

Popular Saturdays from May to September are often booked 12–18 months ahead. Inquire as early as you can – short-notice dates work too if the day is free.

How much does a wedding photographer in Krems cost?

My wedding packages start at € 890 and include photo, film and drone depending on scope. All prices are public on the packages page – no hidden costs and a transparent travel fee.

Is the drone really included?

Yes, aerial drone footage is included in the wedding packages (weather and no-fly zones permitting). I fly with a valid EU remote-pilot certificate and insurance.

Can we book you for a destination wedding?

Gladly. My home base is the Kremstal, but I cover weddings across Austria and abroad. Travel and accommodation are calculated transparently and agreed in advance.

How do we secure our date bindingly?

After our first call I hold your date for 14 days. It becomes binding with a signed contract and a 25 % deposit – the balance is only due after delivery.

What happens if you get sick on the wedding day?

For a genuine emergency I have a network of vetted colleagues from Lower Austria who can step in and shoot in my style. Either way, your images are covered.

Do you do elopements and micro-weddings?

Yes – I love small celebrations and elopements in the Wachau vineyards especially. There are lean packages for them with no minimum hours.

Do you cover same-sex weddings too?

Absolutely. Every couple is welcome – your love, your day, your story.

How many hours should we book?

For the whole story – from getting ready to the first dance – plan 8–10 hours. Registry office plus couple shoot also works compactly in 3–4 hours.

When should the couple shoot take place?

Light is loveliest during the golden hour just before sunset. We slot in 20–30 minutes then – often mid-celebration, you miss nothing.

Do you need an exact schedule from us?

A rough schedule yes – times, locations, contacts. We refine it together at the pre-wedding call so light and timing line up.

What is a "first look" and is it worth it?

A first look is a deliberately staged private first sight away from guests. It eases tension, creates intimate images and relaxes the schedule – I often recommend it, but it's optional.

Do you photograph the getting-ready as well?

Yes – getting ready is often the most emotional phase: quiet details, anticipation, the look in the mirror. Plan a tidy, bright room for it.

How do you handle unplanned moments?

Those are exactly what I look for. I work documentary-style, stay in the background and capture tears, laughter and happy accidents instead of posing everything.

Do you organise the group photos?

Yes. Send me a list of the key groupings in advance; I'll organise them briskly so you can get back to the party fast.

How many weddings do you shoot per weekend?

Only one. Your day gets my full attention, from morning to night, with no rush to the next booking.

Do you need a break during a long wedding?

For days of around 8 hours or more a short meal break is normal – ideally while the guests eat, when little happens worth shooting anyway.

Will you accompany us to the registry office in Krems?

Yes – the Krems registry office and the historic rectory are wonderful backdrops. I know the light there and the best corners for the congratulations.

How long is the finished wedding film?

The highlight film runs 3–6 minutes depending on the package. On request there's also a longer documentary cut (15–30 min) with speeches and the full ceremony.

Do you also record the speeches and vows with sound?

Yes, I use wireless mics and recorders so vows and speeches are crisp – that makes the film especially moving later.

In what quality do you film?

In 4K with a cinematic look. The drone delivers stabilised aerials, while a gimbal keeps ground movements smooth and filmic.

Can we choose the music for the film ourselves?

For legal reasons I use only licensed music. I'll suggest fitting tracks; chart hits unfortunately aren't permitted for social media.

Do we get the film for mobile / vertical format too?

On request I also deliver a short vertical teaser for Instagram Reels and TikTok – ideal for sharing the best moments quickly.

When are the wedding photos ready?

You'll get a preview of the best images within 48 hours. The full gallery arrives no later than two weeks after the wedding, the film within four weeks.

How many edited images do we get?

It depends on duration – for a full-day wedding it's typically 400–700 carefully selected and edited images.

How do we receive the images?

Via a private, password-protected online gallery. From there you download every image in full resolution and share it easily with family and guests.

How long does the gallery stay online?

Twelve months by default. Download the images within that time and back them up in two places – I'll extend the gallery on request.

Are the images available printed or as an album?

Yes, premium photo books and fine-art prints are available as add-ons. A printed album is the loveliest way to hold your story in your hands.

Do we get the RAW files?

No – the edit is half the signature. You do get every good image in full resolution, without watermarks and with private usage rights.

Are we allowed to post the images on social media?

Of course – you have full private usage rights. A photo credit is appreciated but not required.

How are the images edited?

In my calm "Lumen" look: natural skin tones, warm light, no garish Instagram filter. The edit should still feel timeless in ten years.

Can individual images be retouched?

Subtle retouching (skin, distracting elements) is included on selected images. More elaborate composites are possible by arrangement.

What if we don't like a particular image?

Tell me – in a small revision round I'll happily adjust crop or edit. It matters to me that you recognise yourselves in the images.

What happens to the drone in bad weather?

In rain or strong wind the drone stays grounded – safety first. I'll capture the aerials free of charge on another day.

Do you carry a backup camera?

Yes, I always work with two camera bodies, several lenses, spare batteries and dual memory cards. A technical failure must never endanger your images.

How are our images protected against data loss?

On location I already record to two cards at once. Afterwards all data is backed up several times (local + encrypted backup) until you have the gallery.

Are you insured as a photographer?

Yes, I carry business liability insurance and separate drone liability cover – many venues require it anyway.

Do you recommend an "unplugged ceremony"?

For the ceremony, yes: if guests put their phones away, faces stay clear and my images become far more emotional. The celebrant can briefly announce it.

Do you know wedding venues in the Kremstal?

Yes – from wineries in Rohrendorf and Gedersdorf to Sandgrube 13 in Krems and castles in the Kamptal. I've shot at many of them and know their light and logistics.

Gladly – winery weddings in the Wachau and Kremstal are one of my specialities. Vineyards in evening light are an unbeatable backdrop for couple portraits.

Do you come to Vienna for weddings too?

Yes, Vienna is just an hour away and part of my core area – from city weddings to celebrations in the vineyards on the outskirts.

Is Dürnstein a beautiful place to marry?

Absolutely – the abbey church with the blue tower and the Danube promenade are dreamy backdrops. I know the best spots there for the couple shoot.

What makes a wedding in Rohrendorf near Krems special?

Rohrendorf sits amid the loess terraces of the Kremstal. Wineries overlooking the vines, short distances and golden evening light – as a local photographer I know every corner.

Can you cover both the registry office and church ceremony in one day?

Yes, that's standard. We plan the routes between registry office, church and reception so there's enough time for photos and no rush.

Do you photograph winter weddings too?

Yes – snowy vineyards and warm candlelight make for especially atmospheric images. We make clever use of the early daylight.

Do you speak English for international guests?

Yes, I communicate effortlessly in German and English – handy for international couples and guests coming to the Wachau to marry.

How many weddings have you photographed?

Enough to be ready for any weather, light or schedule – yet few enough that each one gets my full devotion.

Can we add an engagement shoot?

Highly recommended: a pre-wedding engagement shoot loosens you up on camera and provides images for save-the-dates. It's bookable as a package add-on.

Do you offer after-wedding or trash-the-dress shoots?

Yes – a relaxed post-wedding shoot in the vineyards or by the Danube yields quite different, calm images. Perfect also for catching up on missed aerials.

What sets you apart from other wedding photographers in Krems?

Photo, film and drone from one source, public fixed prices, delivery in two weeks and a reply to every inquiry within 24 hours – plus genuine local knowledge of the Kremstal.

Do you work with a second shooter?

Do we get a get-to-know meeting beforehand?

Always – by video or over a coffee in Krems. I want to know you and your ideas before you decide; it's free and non-binding.

How many guests are no problem for you?

From an intimate gathering of ten to a large wedding of 200 – I adapt the workflow to the size, with a second shooter if needed.

Do you print a guest book with images?

On request I design a guest book or canvases from your engagement or wedding images – just ask about the print options.

Yes, in the booking section you can check whether your date is still free before making a full inquiry.

Date, rough location, area (e.g. wedding) and your broad ideas on scope and budget. Nothing more – we clarify the rest in conversation.

Do we get a written contract?

Always. Services, dates, delivery time and price are fixed in writing – security for both sides.

What happens after the shoot?

For larger weddings, gladly – joint location scouting helps plan light and logistics in advance.

What if we have to postpone the date?

Rescheduling is free up to 4 weeks ahead, provided the new date is available. Just let me know as early as possible.

Can we book you for several days?

Yes – e.g. for a multi-day wedding with stag night and brunch, or a film project over several shoot days. Multi-day rates are agreed individually.

Will you talk to our wedding planner too?

Gladly. I coordinate directly with planners, caterers and celebrants so the day runs smoothly for everyone.

How far in advance do we get the final schedule?

At the latest two weeks before the date the finely tuned schedule is set – with buffer times for the light.

What if the weather is bad on the day?

We always have a plan B for indoor or rain images. Dramatic clouds or umbrellas often make for the loveliest shots.

Can I book you as a gift for someone?

Yes, via a voucher. I issue it personalised – popular for weddings, births or as a family-shoot surprise.

What's the first step if I'm not sure how this works?

Just tell me in your own words what you have in mind. I'll guide you step by step – you don't need to know any jargon.

Can I see your real work beforehand?

Of course – in the portfolio you'll find real images from weddings, wine, events and portraits from the Wachau and Kremstal.

What makes working with you relaxed?

One contact, clear arrangements, honest advice and reliable delivery times. You shouldn't have to worry about anything but enjoying your day.

What equipment do you work with?

With a professional full-frame mirrorless camera system, fast lenses, gimbal, wireless mics and a drone with EU remote-pilot certification – plus consistently redundant data backup.

Do you have a drone permit?

Yes, I fly with a valid EU drone licence (remote-pilot certificate), registration and drone liability insurance – legal and insured.

Are you allowed to fly the drone everywhere?

No – no-fly zones (e.g. near airports or over crowds) impose limits. I check each location in advance and obtain any required clearances.

How is data protection (GDPR) handled?

I handle your data and images in line with GDPR. Publication only happens with your consent; details are in the privacy policy.

Where are our images stored?

On encrypted drives and a secured backup with EU server location – not on unsecured US cloud services.

Do you publish our images without asking?

No. Whether an image may go into the portfolio or onto social media is your decision. Without consent everything stays private.

Can I request that no images of me are published?

Of course – one note and your images remain exclusively yours.

In which languages do you work?

German and English – handy for international couples, guests and business clients.

Do you also offer editing / cutting only?

In exceptional cases, yes – e.g. editing from existing footage. Tell me about your project; I'll honestly say whether it fits.

Can I request a project that fits no package?

Of course – under "Other" you describe your idea freely. Documentary, music video or art project: tell me and we'll find a way.

Do you deliver images colour-accurate and print-ready?

Yes, calibrated editing ensures correct colours on screen and in print. For print I provide the right colour profile on request.

What happens to the images after delivery?

I keep an archive for an agreed period in case you need something later. After that, data is deleted in line with GDPR.

Do I get the images with or without a logo/watermark?

Your delivered images are always watermark-free. Only previews in protected galleries may carry a discreet mark.

Do you offer express editing?

Yes, for a surcharge I deliver gallery and film much faster – ideal when time is tight. The surcharge is shown in the configurator.

Can I book you on retainer for ongoing projects?

Yes, via subscription models for regular needs – e.g. agents, wineries or companies – with fixed rates and priority dates.

How sustainably do you work?

Short travel distances in the Kremstal, digital delivery instead of needless printing, and durable gear instead of throwaway tech – where possible I keep the footprint small.

What if I don't like the finished images?

That's rare because we align on style beforehand. If it happens: one revision round is included, and I address your wishes.

Are you a registered business?

Yes, NKLS Multimedia e.U. based in Rohrendorf near Krems – proper invoice, contract and insurance included.

How do I find out if you're the right photographer for me?

Look at the portfolio and arrange a free get-to-know call. If the chemistry fits and you like the style, it usually works – with no risk.

How can I recommend or review you?

A Google review would mean a lot – it helps other couples and clients find me. I'm happy to send the link after delivery.
