What happens if the weather is bad on the wedding day?
The coverage happens in any weather — only the drone stays grounded in rain or strong wind. I make up aerial shots on another day at no charge. Rain images are among the most atmospheric there are; what matters is a plan B for the couple shoot agreed in advance.

What applies in which weather
Light rain: everything proceeds as planned, the couple shoot moves under umbrellas or covered areas. Heavy rain: couple shoot moves indoors or into a calmer weather window. Wind above roughly 40 km/h: drone stays grounded, make-up session free. Snow: fully possible and visually often a stroke of luck. Thunderstorm: outdoor work pauses for safety, indoor coverage continues.
Important context: only the drone has a hard weather limit. Camera and lenses are weather-sealed, and I work with lighting that does not depend on sun. An overcast sky is in fact a kinder light for portraits than harsh midday sun.
Why plan B must be settled in advance
The most common mistake is discussing the bad-weather option only on the wedding morning. There is then no time to find a suitable location, and you end up in the nearest interior with poor light. In the pre-meeting we therefore fix a concrete alternative — covered courtyards, vaulted cellars, arcades or church porches in Krems and the Wachau.
The second element is flexibility in the schedule. Rain fronts pass through. If the couple shoot is not fixed rigidly at 4 pm but treated as a movable block, a dry twenty-minute window can almost always be found. That is enough for the key images.
Rain is not a disaster
Wet streets reflect, umbrellas give images frame and colour, and a couple walking through rain together looks more connected in photographs than one in sunshine. The images couples remember years later rarely come from perfect weather — they come from the moment something went off plan and everyone laughed anyway.
